History

Myths abound about the Honeybear cat, but facts are few. Breeder Ann Baker, founder of the Ragdoll cat, claimed to have created Honeybears by breeding a Persian cat with a skunk via artificial insemination, then breeding the results of that crossing back to a Persian.

Others state that these cats are result of an unknown Persian crossing that resulted in a longhaired limber cat with a short, rounded fluffy tail. These cats seem to prefer lying prone on the floor, and these traits combine to make them look like miniature bearskin rugs
